Origination 2010 Week 2

Questions on the book "The laws of simplicity" by John Meada

What does the acronym SHE mean according to the book
SHE stands for Shrink, Hide and Embody

In your own words define humanist technologist

Humanist Technologist, center and devote their time to thinking what would better the human kind with interest and needs of what we need everyday and improve them on making them simpler and much more effective

How can you apply the notion of reduce to your own design process?
To apply this to our art work, it would be quite a task. To make our work simple, easy and still get out the message ( if there is one), but yes to simplify would be better for everyone. For the designer the process would be shorten and the image would be great, for the viewer it would still look marvelous.

From what you read in chapter 1, explain the relationship between the complexity and simplicity
Complexity and simplicity are one of the same but just opposite. Without complexity there wouldn't be simplicity and vice versa. To simplify complexity you must slowly take things out of the picture and at the same time make sure everything looks fine and functions... ( if it were a electronic)
for example, we have a normal stereo remote and also an apple remote

The 2 pictures above were found using google images

After the collaboration presentation with the other groups we have put all the info together into a rough draft, types up by Mark Hilton.
